Waipu Montana Poetry Day Winners
The winners of this year’s Bream Bay News Poetry Competition: are Michael McRae (Primary School Section), Rachel Roberts (Secondary School Section) and Peter Stevensen (Open Section.) Classic Hits in Waipu for Tartan Week
Tartan Day in Waipu was helped along by Will and Jax from Classic Hits Northland who got into the spirit of tartan, winter@waipu broadcasting their Breakfast Show live from Food 45. Locals dropped in for coffee and breakfast, and there were lots of great interviews and free giveaways. Read more
Evensong in Waipu
The Waipu Anglican Church and Lauchie McLean got into the spirit of Winter@waipu and organised a traditional Evensong service on Sunday evening 28th June. A choir of about 20 gathered from surrounding districts and met to practise at 2.30pm on the afternoon before the service.

Michael McRae, 10 years old, lives in Waipu and attends Waipu Primary School. He is the winner of the “Find the Dog Competition” run by Good Ground Real Estate as a a Winter@Waipu promotion.
