The 53rd Victim – performed in Whangarei by Bogwood

On the morning of July 7th 2005, Pip Hall was in London. She wandered into Tavistock Square shortly after that double-decker bus had been destroyed by suicide bombers. Also there at the same time was a young New Zealand woman claiming to be a doctor as she assisted the wounded and the dying.

Hall, the daughter of New Zealand dramatist Roger Hall, was so intrigued by this woman’s story and subsequent fate, that she made her the central character in her award-winning play ‘The 53rd Victim’. Read more

Joyful and Triumphant to be performed in Whangarei by Bogwood Productions

Just to confirm that the Old Library Building has been booked from 12th June-4th July for our season of Robert Lord’s classic New Zealand play Joyful and Triumphant. Which does not necessarily mean that those wll be the performance dates. But it will be a three-week season within those dates and subject to confirmation.Auditions are likely to be held at the Old Library early March and we will be looking for 5 women and 2 men. We are delighted that Kelly Johnson will again be directing.

Macbeth in Whangarei

madbethposterBogwood Productions will be unveiling their 2009 Shakespeare production in mid-September : the classic Macbeth , directed by Kelly Johnson and starring Jarrod Tuck and Natasha Foster in the title roles.
