The Heart of Winter@Waipu is our July celebration of Tartan Week - the irrepressible Celtic spirit flys free this week with a celebration of all things gaelic, scottish and tartan. More about TARTAN WEEK – including the history of the event and the programme

In 2011 Winter@waipu begins with the Long Weekend in June and finishes at the end of September

The Bream Bay News Poetry Competition to be advised Its on again we decided this was too good a thing to let die. Email your poems to:breambaynews@xtra.co.nz or post them to The Bream Bay News, RD2, Waipu 0582 before Friday 17 July 2009. The prize winners will be announced at a special poetry night at Food 45 in Waipu starting 7pm National Poetry Day, Friday 30 July.	A $50 book voucher prize or each of three different categories: primary school age children secondary school students adults.
