The Heart of Winter@Waipu from 2010 on will be Tartan Week - the irrepressible Celtic spirit flys free this week with a celebration of all things gaelic, scottish and tartan. More about TARTAN WEEK – including the history of the event and the programme

To remember and give thanks for those from our community who are buried in the Waipu Cemetery.

We will remember especially those who have died in the past year, as well as honouring others buried there.

Bring some flowers/herbs to put on the graves as a symbol of thanks and remembrance:

Bream Bay master pizza chef Competition

The Beach House is holding Bream Bay Master pizza chef. All contestants will be representing a local business. All contestants will need to be at the restaurant at 6.30pm and we will start the competition at 7pm Each contestant will have two pizza dough’s and the choice of different vegetables, meats, cheese & sauces to create their signature pizza.

The winning pizza will receive a prize and the master pizza chef of the year cup to take home. The winning pizza will go on the beach house menu for everyone to try.

The competition will be held over two weeks –Friday 11th June & Friday 18th June. The first night will be the heats to find the finalist. All finalists will have to come back next week to compete for the Master pizza chef cup. There will be a wild card (the black team) coming back to compete the final night. We have three judges.

Make sure you bring along family and friends for support.

$20.00 per person door change (food included in price).
Drink special and spot prizes through out the night.

Please confirm the person to represent your business by May 3rd& please provide some sort of signage to put in front of the work station. We will list all business on our advertising so please supply your business name.

Free Drought Busting Dinner at Ruakaka

The drought has been tough – but you have survived – it time to celebrate life – we would like to invite you to a free drought busting dinner.

Bring your farming friends along for a good night out – good food – good company – great speaker – come on take a night off and relax.

Geoff Crawford a well known Northland farmer, business owner and ex North Auckland rugby player has agreed to be our guest speaker. We have lots of give away prizes ranging from tee shirts and gumboots to stock feed, calf feeders and urea. Drinks will be available to purchased from the bar.
