Tarts in Tartan – Waipu 2011 Calendar now available

Local Waipu women Sue Welford and Maggie Wistrand are on a mission – they have 250 Waipu Calendars to sell.  So far they are going like hotcakes – this year’s theme is Tarts in Tartan and the closely guarded secret of who was in the calendar was announced at a gathering at the Waipu RSA in Tartan Week.

This is the fourth year they have done the Calendar – each year raising thousands of dollars for local charities, including the Waipu Museum.  They have raised $9,000 from the previous editions, and aim to raise $2,500 from the current edition.

Copies available from the museum and lotto shop and will be on sale at the markets and in the street over the coming months. Many people buy them to send abroad so Waipu’s fame is worldwide.
