Langs Beach Lodge – walking adventures
Bream Bay has a new tourist accommodation which focuses on walkers …
Langs Beach Lodge has been developed by the former owners of the successful Naja Garden Centre in Mangawhai Natalie and Jac Spyksmas.  They are offering their lovely home as an accommodation base for 2-3 day short break walking adventures. Natalie and Jac are both keen walkers themselves, they appreciate and enjoy the sense of camaraderie and wellbeing that having an adventure like this creates. Over the last 18 months, they have enjoyed walks in Europe, Japan and New Zealand.
Get yourself and a group of friends together and come and enjoy a short break walking adventure. Each day, head off from the lodge on a different walk and explore the spectacular coastline of the Southern Bream Bay area.
The picture postcard views and white sandy beaches will have you wanting to tell everyone about this beautiful part of Northland barely 90mins from Auckland. You don’t have to worry about a thing, all your meals are provided, your linen is provided and best of all, you don’t have to carry a heavy back pack, just a small day pack.
If you find yourself too tired to walk the return journey home, then you just need to ring and you’ll be picked up.
Your Accommodation
The contemporary lodge wing offers spectacular views out over Bream Bay, comfortably sleeps six and is attached to your hosts’ eco friendly residence. It is situated at the junction of The Brynderwyn Hills walkway and The Mangawhai Cliffs walkway which are both part of the National Te Araroa Walkway. Sleeping facilities: 2 bedrooms, each with a Queen bed. A rumpus style dining lounge with sliding screens and 3 single beds.
In true walking lodge tradition, it features shared facilities, including the rumpus style dining-lounge/sleeping area and a shared bathroom, with a separate toilet. An extra outdoor garden shower can also be enjoyed. However, not true to tradition is the need to bring your own linen. It is all provided for you. Just relax, enjoy the view, the company of your friends and your achievements of the day.
Your Meals
Enjoy home cooked meals prepared from fresh seasonal produce from the lodges’ own garden. Savour the taste of free range eggs straight from the chooks, and rekindle fond memories of childhood with your daily packed picnic lunch. Your 2 course evening meals will be all prepared for you, but may require minimal input on your part, e.g. barbeque the meat or heat various dishes.
Your Walks
Each daily (unguided) walk comes with an option to extend or shorten its’ length. They cover a range of terrain from stunning beaches to coastal rock hopping to private farmland, rural roads, established walkways and regenerating bush. The base time for most of the walks is around 4hrs. If it’s just a day at the beach you fancy, then that’s ok too. Maps and details will be given on your first night of arrival. Your Package choices
