What I love about Bream Bay

The Beaches – the only decision you need to make is which one – a safe deserted sands of Uretiti, the popular beaches of Waipu Cove and Ruakaka with their summer surf patrol, the white sands of Lang’s Beach…

The Rivers – visit the bird sanctuary on the Waipu estuary, hire Kayaks and explore the Ruakaka estuary and bird life.

The History – start with a visit to the Waipu Museum and information centre. Trace the unique migration of Norman McLeod and his followers, who sailed from Scotland, via Nova Scotia and Melbourne to Waipu. Drive the Heritage Trail or visit the old graveyard on Cove Rd.

The Hills – explore the Waipu Caves, walk the numerous tracks, visit the Piroa Falls, go horse trekking.

The Sea and offshore Islands – try surf casting off Uretiti Beach, charter a boat to go fishing or dolphin watching or visit the Hen and Chicken Islands

The People – I love living in a small community, being an active part of that community, organising, networking, being friends.

    Thanks and regards

  2. Neil Webster says:

How do we get our telephone number in your directory? We are just a private residence. Also we only have mobile.

    • Rosemary Neave says:

Hi neil – which directory do you mean? The printed one the Lions put out? The one on this website?
The one on this website is for businesses and community groups
Lions – I suggest you contact peter Blanch 09 4320123 to see if you can be in be in the next printing

      • Rosemary Neave says:

Thinking further, I think there are quite a few people not in the telecom directory, perhaps the lions in their next reprint could offer to have another listing of locals without telecom numbers. 🙂
